I have been called a magpie by some, so Wayne "Breadcrumbs" MacPhail suggested I make that my focus as a guest bloggist. My name is Madelyn Herschorn, and one of my areas of shiny interest is junk collecting, the kind of kitsch stuff you find at flea markets, thrift stores, garage and church sales, and if you're really lucky -- in your apartment dumpster.
I will try to find cool sites to share with you along those lines. Since some readers will question my curatorial skill and taste and wonder if I have any grey matter at all, I thought it made sense to introduce you to what I call lobotomies, others call pot heads and most term head vases. Yes, there is a museum. There is an annual convention. And a society dedicated to head vase appreciation and trade; members are known as head hunters. Just so you know, there is even an allied area of collecting called figural plant vases, a pottery style one clever friend has dubbed lobuttomies (but the name has yet to take hold).
